Alke 468 has passed away

The KFPS studbook stallion Alke 468 Sport AA passed away in Germany on August 22, as announced by his owner Gestüt Wickeschliede. The stallion with the lowest relatedness percentage within the KFPS – 15.8% – was 17 years old.

Low relatedness as an advantage

Alke 468 (Fabe 348 x Jakob 302) was born in 2008 as Alke van ‘t Kempke, bred by Martin Vrieze from Neede. He descends from Wiske van ‘t Oost, a Ster Preferent daughter of Jakob 302. Not only his dam, but also his granddam and great-granddam were Preferent mares. At three years old, he was approved as a studbook stallion, where his low relatedness was considered an asset. He initially stood at stud with Peter Kruidenier in Rhoon and later at Hengstenstation Gaasterland. His international career began at age 13, when he moved to Sweden to Aftonmora Friesians, after which in 2022 he was stationed at Stephanie Dietrich’s in Germany.

Nearly 400 offspring

The stallion sired almost 400 offspring. Among them, one mare achieved the Model predicate (Wens fan’t Surcher Oord Model AAA), one became Crown, and 35 mares earned the Ster predicate. In addition, he produced 24 Ster stallions, 10 Sport horses, one Sport Elite horse (Comet Ellemose), seven offspring with the AA predicate, and one with a triple-A score. Alke 468 himself competed up to Z1 dressage level.
He does not (yet) have an approved son, but he does already have an approved grandson: Siebren 547 (by Jurre 495).
